After two days of consortium meetings at IE University, AI4Gov-X opened the doors in Madrid to announce MagiX, the Master in AI, Governance Innovation and Digital Transformation. It is the first programme of its kind in Europe, built from the ground up for public-sector professionals working in a world increasingly shaped by AI.

Project Coordinator Anna Barbara opened the session alongside Irene Blázquez Navarro, Director of the Centre for the Governance of Change at IE University. Alessandro Deserti of Politecnico di Milano and Claudio Feijoo of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Co-Directors of the educational programme, then set out what MagiX is and the reasoning behind how it was designed.

The session closed with a panel on the harder question underneath all of it: what does preparing civil servants for the AI era actually require, once you look past tools and technology to data governance, accountability and institutional change? Moderated by Scientific Director Gianluca Misuraca, the panel brought together Gabriela Viale Pereira (Universität für Weiterbildung Krems), Juan Ignacio Criado (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), Pilar Torres (AMETIC) and Roel Dobbe (Delft University of Technology), with perspectives spanning academia, industry and government.
